I use Carbon Fiber components on my Mt. Bikes and they take a beating and never a problem. It's not the Carbon Fiber, it's poor engineering that makes a product fail. Carbon Fiber is widely used in the cycling industry. CarBent Bicycles are carbon fiber frame, incredibly light and not a single complaint in the past 5 years that I know of... but the designer is an EXPERT in Carbon Fiber Engineering and understands EXACTLY how to maximize the benefits of the material.

With respect to lightweight carbon fibre seats, I used three and the first simply broke and the second showed stress cracks after very little riding. The third started delaminating on the top edge.

These were not M5 seats but my input is to make people wary of very lightweight components.

TRUTH is NOT Libel

Editor: I have to throw up the BULLSHIT Flag on this comment.

I am the OWNER and PUBLISHER of this site - and the comments I make are the 100% TRUTH and I have the paperwork and FACTS to back it up. I dealt directly with Bram and he made no attempt to make right his words. BRAM is a damn liar and I'll call a spade a spade.

Bram lied to me on many occasions. Bram told me the bicycle weighed 26lbs. Shipped it with the Fiberglass seat instead of the Carbon Fiber seat. Bram thought he could pull one over on me because I'm in a foreign country. I guess he thinks Americans are stupid people.

I have ridden a Carbent that weighs only 19lbs and it just blows away the M5 Shockproof. Not even funny, not even close. If a person wants a performance bicycle they would do well to look at Carbent.

I took the M5 Shockproof Bicycle to a local shop immediately for assembly after arrival to have it weighed. Weighed in at OVER 32lbs!!! I had to have the wheels trued because no one at M5 cared enough to even test them. Many of the parts like the Wheels are no-name. The 105 Component set for what I paid for this bike was a joke!!!

Anyone that wants to purchase from a 2 faced liar is welcome to do so. This is why I include the link. And if Bram wants to sue me then bring it on.

So you are entitled to your opinion. But those are FACTS.

And if you are so Hot to defend his reputation I'll happily send you the Bicycle for $5,000 cash and remove the listing. Until then I'm going to keep displaying the truth about Bram and his company.

Most manufacturers are pretty happy to have the exposure for listings here. I've had NO problem with any other manufacturer.

I find the defamatory and libelous nature of this website to be horrid and unacceptable.

M5 is a reputable company that makes superior and innovative products and stands behind thier products with a solid warranty. Bram Moems is an honest person of integrity and thus does not put up with bad faith customers. This site should not allow defamatory remarks to be made by people who claim to have objective information. This is prejudiced and biased reporting.

Recumbent manufacturers with websites NOT in English yet to add ?
Look for AliaCiklo on http://www.aliaciklo.fr/ (French and Esperanto) with an interesting luggage box used as room saving stand.

S&B didn't look like they are really in business to me as they are using a personal page for their hosting. While I'd like to list everyone; I choose to list only those with a "Web Presence" so people can explore them through links direct to their sites. S&B http://home.pacbell.net/recumbnt/

I have added Zox to the list. Thanks for the note. And to anyone else who knows of a Manufacturer with a Web Presence that is not on the list please send the URL's and I'll add them.

This is one of the best bent lists I've seen. Could only think of a few other companies:
- S&B (California I think) Have a pretty nifty folding tandem
_ Zox (Cermany) AWD tandem that converts to FWD single bent, along with their full line of bents.
